SUMMARY
This article explains any considerations related to Audium software due to Daylight Savings Time (DST) changes made by the U.S. government in 2007.
SYMPTOMS
N/A
RESOLUTION
Audium software relies on dates passed by a Java VM; therefore, as long as Java passes the correct date, Audium software will not be affected.
The change to Daylight Savings Time in 2007 will not have any impact on Audium software. The software will continue to operate without issue, regardless of when the actual DST change occurs.
However, please note that (as with every time change) log timestamps will be affected. For example, creating negative values for call duration in the Fall and adding an hour in the Spring. This issue, however, occurs during any time change and is not related to the DST shifting in March 2007.
The other part of Audium software that is date-based is licensing, however it is interested in a date and not a time. Hence, since the licenses expire on a given day, the DST change does not affect the expiration date.

Hi,
The article says:

How can we make sure Java is patched properly? Is it simply running the JDK US DST Timezone Update Tool - 1.0, provided by Sun Microsystems?
Thanks
Hitesh

Hi Hitesh. Yes, please refer to your Java vendor's website (either Sun or IBM depending on your platform) for patch information related to how to avoid issues with the DST change. Once Java is patched, Audium software will inherit those updates.
