SUMMARY

This article explains how to automatically download a Gateway Adapter using Audium Studio's built-in software updates feature.

SYMPTOMS

Developer would like to install a new Gateway Adapter for Audium Studio.

RESOLUTION

To download and install a Gateway Adapter within Audium Studio 5.1.x, perform the following steps:

1. Run Audium Studio 5.1.x.

2. Select “Help->About Audium Studio” from the menu.

3. Press “Feature Details”.

4. Check if the feature named “GATEWAY_NAME Gateway Adapter Pack”, where GATEWAY_NAME is the name of the gateway adapter you want to install, already exists. If so, skip steps 5 to 18, and proceed directly to step 19. However, if the feature does not exist, go to step 5.

5. Select “Help->Software Updates->Find and Install…” from the menu.

6. Choose “Search for new features to install” and click “Next”.

7. Press “New Remote Site…”.

8. Enter “GATEWAY_NAME Gateway Adapter Pack” for the Name and “http://update.audiumcentral.com/gatewayAdapters/GATEWAY_URL/” for the URL. Note that the trailing slash must be included in the URL. You can obtain the GATEWAY_URL from the release notes of the desired Gateway Adapter.

9. Click “Ok”.

10. Verify that “GATEWAY_NAME Gateway Adapter Pack” is the only option selected from the list of available updates.

11. Click “Finish”.

12. Enter a valid Audium Support Center username and password when prompted for Audium Studio Update, and click “Ok”.

13. Select “GATEWAY_NAME Gateway Adapter Pack” and click “Next”.

14. Review and then accept the license terms and click “Next”.

15. Verify that “GATEWAY_NAME Gateway Adapter Pack” is listed, and click “Finish”. Note that most likely the version number will be displayed as well.

16. If an unsigned feature verification warning pops up, click “Install”.

17. Press “Yes” to restart now when prompted.

18. Audium Studio will automatically restart after the GATEWAY_NAME Gateway Adapter Pack update.

19. Your gateway adapter installation for Studio 5.1.x is now complete.
