SUMMARY

This article explains how to automatically download software updates using Audium Studio's built-in software updates feature.

SYMPTOMS

Developer would like to upgrade to the latest version of Audium Studio.

RESOLUTION

To automatically download and install a Studio update, perform the following steps:

1) Run Audium Studio.

2) Select 'Help->Software Updates->Find and Install...' from the menu.

3) Choose 'Search for new features to install' and click 'Next'.

4) Press 'New Remote Site…'.

5) Enter 'Audium Studio 5.x' (where x is the version you are updating to, 5.0.2 for example) for the Name and http://update.audiumcentral.com/studio5/ for the URL. Note that the trailing slash must be included in the URL. Click 'Ok'.

6) Verify that 'Audium Studio 5.x' (where x is the desired version) is the only option selected from the list of update sites to search. Click 'Finish'.

7) Enter a valid Audium Support Center username and password when prompted for Audium Studio Update.

8) Select 'Audium Studio 5.x', 'Audium Elements 5.x' and 'Audium Say It Smart Plugins 5.x' from the list of available updates (where x is the desired version).

9) Deselect any other features from the list of available updates. Click 'Next'.

10) Accept the license terms and click 'Next'.

11) Verify that 'Audium Studio 5.x', 'Audium Elements 5.x' and 'Audium Say It Smart Plugins 5.x' are listed (where x is the desired version), and click 'Finish'.

12) If the unsigned feature verification warning pops up, click 'Install All'.

13) Press 'Yes' to restart now when prompted.

14) Audium Studio will automatically restart with the update.

Note: Do not select any other features except for 'Audium Studio 5.x', 'Audium Elements 5.x' and 'Audium Say It Smart Plugins 5.x' from the list of available updates (where x is the desired version). Studio is currently only supported on Eclipse/GEF 3.1.0. Upgrading to newer versions may work; however, you will be required to roll back to a supported configuration if you require assistance from Audium Support.
