SUMMARY
This article explains how to map a static and available IP address to your application server. This may resolve problems where the voice browser cannot access an Audium application running on Audium Call Services.
SYMPTOMS
Voice gateways require that you specify a static and available IP address. Users behind firewalls or with dynamically assigned IP addresses will have difficulty serving their applications if the IP address is not available or has changed. This error is especially common with Audium customers that use a VoiceXML hosting provider, or a cable modem.
A voice gateway is not able to access your Audium application(s).
RESOLUTION
Either:
1. Your IP is not available to the outside world or 2. Your IP is dynamic and has changed since you set it up in the voice gateway
If you are behind a firewall, please consult your system administrator to make your IP address available.
To map a static IP or hostname to your machine you can use dynamic DNS or port maping. One option (not affiliated with Audium), is http://www.dyndns.org/. However, you should consult your system administrator first as your business may be able to provide you a static IP or a different solution specific to your network.
