RESOLUTION
Refreshing an Existing Install
If the system already contains an installation of Audium, the installer can be used to re-install the same component. The installer will overwrite only those files created by the original installer. Custom files added after installation such as license files, applications, logs and custom Java code will not be deleted. However it is strongly suggested to back up all related data before proceeding with the update process. To perform the refresh, run the installer according to the installation instructions found in section entitled Installing Audium. Note that on Windows the installer will automatically detect the existing installation and ask the user for confirmation that the refresh will take place. On Linux and Solaris, the user must take the extra step and enter the original installation path.
Adding Components to an Existing Install
If the system already contains an installation of Audium, the installer can be used to install additional components that were not previously installed. While the installer will not delete any existing files in the installation, it is strongly suggested to back up all related data before proceeding with the install of additional components. Run the installer according to the installation instructions found in section entitled Installing Audium. Note that on Windows the installer will automatically detect the existing installation. On Linux and Solaris, the user must take the extra step and enter the original installation path.
Upgrading From a Previous Audium Software Install
It is strongly suggested not to run the Audium installer on top of a prior version of the software. Instead, choose a different installation path or make a backup of the prior version, move it to a separate directory, then run the Audium installer. Licenses, applications, and custom Java code can then be migrated according to the instructions found in the Studio and Call Services Revision History document. Loading Audium 3.3 applications in Audium Studio is also described in the Studio Guide.
Migrating Versions of Audium Prior to 3.3
Audium Call Services and Audium Studio can only migrate Audium 3.3 applications. Applications created in prior versions must first be updated to Audium 3.3 using the tools available in that version before migrating to the current version.
